Description
22" (56 cm.) Hand-pressed thick paste porcelain shoulderhead with eight sew holes, rich pink-tinted complexion, having perfectly oval face with well-defined chin, sculpted hair in brown sculpted short finger curls around the sides and back of head, enhanced by deeply incised combmarks and shaded coloring, sculpted detail of eye sockets with defined eyelids, upper-glancing blue eyes, black and red upper eyeliner, ombre eyeshadow, feathered brown brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth with well-shaped lips, blushed cheeks, muslin stitch-jointed body, kid arms, antique robe and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Royal Copenhagen, circa 1850. Value Points: extremely rare doll with remarkable quality of sculpting enhanced by very fine artistic painting.
