16" (41 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with very full lower cheeks and elongated face, blonde sculpted hair in short curls, painted blue eyes, black and red upper eyeliner, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with defined teeth and tongue tip, French kid poupee body with shapely one-piece torso and legs, jointed kid arms, mitten hands, wearing black woolen cassock, pants, black leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, attributed to Gaultier porcelain works from their early series of painted eye poupee characters, circa 1865. Value Points: the rare model is notable with finely-rendered modeling especially around the eyes.
