Description
17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with three back head seams, firmly-pressed and oil-painted brown hair and facial features, blushed ears, small brown painted eyes, black and brown upper eyeliner, lightly-tinted brows, rounded small nose, small closed mouth, stitch-jointed arms and separately-stitched thumbs, disc-jointed legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Kathe Kruse 0784 (feet). Comments: Kathe Kruse, the first model doll, circa 1920. Value Points: fine gleaming complexion on the early model doll with well-defined expression, original antique embroidered dress and tunic. The doll is featured in the book, The Rose Unfolds, by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, page 80.
