Description
11" (28 cm.) Bisque socket head, dark blue glass sleep and side-glancing eyes, painted lashes, single stroke brows, rounded nose with accented nostrils, closed mouth with extended center line forming into a shy smile, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K*R Simon & Halbig Germany 131-21. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, circa 1920, the beloved model was more commonly presented as a googly with toddler body, yet this example appears to be completely original and rare variation created for the American market. Value Points: most captivating character with finest bisque, luxury original wig, original body and body finish, original silk aqua dress, and presented in original factory box, designed for the American market with label "Fine Dressed Jointed Doll" on box and "My Darling, I can be dressed and undressed" label on dress. The doll has a blue ribbon award from 1995 UFDC convention in Philadelphia.
