17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with plump face and delicate complexion, painted blue eyes with heavily-modeled eye lids, black upper eyeliner, delicately painted all-around lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, unpierced ears, blonde caracul wig over cork pate, firmly-stuffed kid poupee body with wooden ball-jointing at shoulders and knees, pale bisque arms to above the elbows, cupped hands. Condition: generally excellent, imperceptible professional restoration to two finger tips on right hand. Comments: Adelaide Huret, circa 1860. Value Points: especially beautiful face with dreamy eye expression, body is appropriate of the era and style, wearing original (unsigned) Huret plaid dress, undergarments, and with period accessories including leather boots, leather belt with attached purse, grey felt bonnet with ecru ivory ribbons, and bone-handled parasol with silk cover and ivory silk fringe.
