17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head with strong throat on original bisque shoulderplate with V-shaped definition at center throat, blue glass enamel inset eyes with well-defined eyelids, very dark eyeliner, delicately-painted lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth, shaded lips with center accent line, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig on cork pate, gutta-percha poupee body with shapely torso, jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Huret stamp on front torso, see photograph). Comments: Adelaide Huret, circa 1867. Value Points: distinctive bisque model of the Huret poupee is perfectly captured and enhanced by choicest painting and bisque, original signed body, and wearing very fine early costume, unsigned but likely Huret, of mauve patterned silk with black velvet edging, undergarments, very fine bonnet, leather shoes.
