6" (15 cm.) Terra cotta shoulderhead bust of young child with suggestion of sculpted short hair, downcast face, defined facial features including downcast lips. The bust bears the early Rookwood pottery mark of the Ohio firm who presented a very limited series of character child busts in the early 1900s, concurrent with the revival of the art character dolls.
