19" (48 cm.) All-cloth doll with egg-shaped head, flat-dimensional facial features, oil-painted facial features and hair, painted brown eyes with painted all-around eyeliner, single-stroke brows, outlined nose, closed mouth, brown painted curls, stitch-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, oil-painted lower arms and legs, bare feet. Condition: generally excellent, typical paint rubs. Comments: Columbian Doll presented by Emma Adams at the Columbian Exposition of 1892 and became the first American doll to win the Gold Medal. Value Points: very artistic painting especially around the eyes, with original costume.
