Description
12" (30 cm.) Solid domed pink-tinted porcelain swivel head with flat-cut neck socket which accommodates to original porcelain shoulderplate, painted black hair with feathered details, painted pale eyes, single stroke brows, red and black upper eyeliner, closed mouth, twill-covered midriff with bellows interior, thighs and upper arms, porcelain lower torso and lower arms and legs, bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1860. Value Points: rare model is wonderfully-preserved and all-original. The doll is shown in the book, The Rose Unfolds, by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, page 133.
