The sculpted paper mache nut shell hinges open at the gilt-edged center to reveal a blue painted interior with miniature wax scenes at each side; one side with wax building having a center tower and defined windows, a woman walking in the foreground; and the other side depicting a woman with crown holding two small children. Excellent condition. Early 1800s.
