Description
19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head with plump cheeks and chin, painted pale blue upper-glancing eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, fringed lashes, slight feathered brows, accented nostrils of rounded tip nose, closed mouth with outlined lips, well-defined ears, brunette mohair wig in coiled braid, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, wearing antique folklore costume, undergarments, socks, shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: G made in Germany 10 208 (head) Germany (red stamp on torso). Comments: Kestner, circa 1912, the model was made with glass eyes or this, the rarer variation, with painted eyes for a short time only. Value Points: rarity of the model is enhanced by finest sculpting of lightly impressed dimples in cheeks and lip corners, enhancing decorative glaze on pupils and brows, original wig, original body and body finish.
