Description
25" (64 cm.) Pink-tinted, hand-pressed thick paste porcelain, slender oval-shaped face, elongated throat, sculpted hair in rare brown color with shading detail, well-defined center part with individually sculpted short finger-curls around the sides and back of head, sculpted detail of eye sockets with defined eyelids, small blue upper-glancing eyes, black and red upper eyeliner, ombre eyeshadow, feathered brown brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth with defined space between the lips, painted row of tiny teeth, accent dimples at lip corners and philtrum, blushed cheeks, old muslin stitch-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent except small chip at right back stringing hole corner. Comments: attributed to the porcelain works of Royal Copenhagen, circa 1850. Value Points: rarely found doll with unique modeling and hair color, very distinctive facial expression, wearing fine early gown, undergarments and leather boots.
