30" (76 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, almond-shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French wooden body with shapely torso and derriere, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees, and extra deluxe swivel-jointing at upper arms and legs, separately-sculpted fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Pierre-Francois Jumeau, circa 1867, its grand size indicates likely creations as special Exhibition model. Value Points: especially beautiful poupee with most delicate bisque and expression, original wig, pate, rare wooden body and body finish; included is white pique day dress with fine soutache embroidery. The doll is featured in the book, The Rose Unfolds, by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, pages 88/89.
