Description
22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head, large brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, delicate rose blushed eye shadow, arched short feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips, dimpled chin, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, Gesland body with composition shoulderplate, padded stockinette torso and upper limbs over metal armature allowing articulation, composition lower arms and legs, jointed wrists, lovely antique burgundy wool costume, matching bonnet, undergarments, leather shoes, stockings. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Gesland stamp on body). Comments: Gaultier, circa 1885. Value Points: very beautiful delicate complexion complements the rich brown eyes. The doll is featured in the book, The Rose Unfolds, by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, pages 146/147.
