Description
8" (20 cm.) All-wooden doll with one-piece head and torso, black painted hair, painted facial features, tiny blue eyes, single stroke brows, closed mouth, all-wooden fully-articulated body with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent, typical scuffs to facial finish. Comments: Grodnertal, circa 1850, with original paper label "English" indicating the costume. Value Points: the doll is wearing original blue walking gown with lace trim, undergarments, woven bonnet with upturned brim. Ex-Maureen Popp Collection.
