Description
25" (64 cm.) Art-plaster sculpted head, sculpted reddish/brown hair drawn to her crown and with arranged curls at her forehead, painted facial features, green painted eyes, closed mouth modeled as though open with row of painted teeth, padded armature body, posable arms, posed on original wooden stand labeled with her name and 1883. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: designed by Lilli Baitz, portraying Leslie Carter (1862-1937), the Kentucky-born Broadway stage star who in later years appeared in low budget Hollywood westerns. Value Points: wearing coral woolen fitted top with draped effect at the hips and lace center panel that matches lace sleeve ruffles, and is repeated at the hem, with mauve silk damask, trimmed with burgundy velvet ribbon, with handkerchief. With original labeled leather travel case.
