Description
19" (48 cm.) All-cloth doll with sculpted and oil painted facial features and complexion, red tightly curled hair captured under a coronet of pearls and silver and gilt beads, cloth body with padded armature, separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent, lining of velvet worn. Comments: created by Dorothy Heizer, charter NIADA doll artist whose works are in the Smithsonian and currently displayed at the Morris Museum. Value Points: described as "Queen Elizabeth I", the doll wears her original costume of rich black velvet with stand-up ruffled lace collar, accented with tiny beads and pearls, three rings, undergarments and wonderful velvet slippers with beads and pearl ornaments.
