Art-plaster sculpted head with sculpted brown hair captured in chignon at the crown, curled bangs painted facial features, blue painted eyes, closed mouth with serious expression, padded armature body, posable arms, posed on original wooden stand labeled with her name and 1873. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sarah Bernhardt, purchased by J.H. Hoffheimer, 1937 Traphagen School (original cloth label on costume). Comments: designed by Lilli Baitz, portraying the celebrated French actress Sarah Bernhardt (1844-1923) whose notable roles includes La Dame aux Camelias. Value Points: wearing fuchsia fitted gown with overskirt, velvet inset panel on skirt, velvet fitted bodice, silk organza trim, embellished with multiple bows. With original labeled leather travel case.
