14" (36 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead with ebony black complexion, accented nostrils, coral shaded lips, black fleecy hair over cork pate, texture-painted kid poupee body with shapely torso. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1870. Value Points: rare black-complexioned poupee with gleaming patina, the doll is wearing lovely blue patterned gown with blue velvet edging, white blouse, hair bows, woven purse, undergarments, slippers. The doll is features in the book, The Rose Unfolds, by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, page 93.
