Description
20" (51 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and painted complexion and facial features, brown side-glancing eyes, dark eyeliner with shaded detail, painted upper lashes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, richly-shaded lips, dark brunette mohair wig, stitching at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, Raynal, late 1930s. Value Points: in pristine condition, the doll is wearing traditional Swiss costume with lace fingerless gloves and coiffe, laced vest, flowered silk apron, black pleated skirt, white blouse, undergarments, socks, felt shoes, and cross, and is preserved in original box. The doll was presented in 1939 at the Swiss pavilion of the Golden Gate International Exposition.
