Description
16" (41 cm.) Richly cast wax shoulderhead inclined slightly to the side, with plumply modeled cheeks and chin, painted brown eyes in well-defined sockets, brown upper eyeliner, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, brunette human hair in very delicate tendrils, softly stuffed body, poured wax lower limbs, expressively-posed fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: 1700s, European. Value Points: very fine detail of modeling creates a most expressive face, with added decorative elements such as glaze on painted eyes lending a very realistic look, wearing outstanding original costume with embroidery and appliques.
