9" (23 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead, brown painted hair brushed away from face into short curls at back of head, and captured by a wide black hair band behind the sculpted ears, painted blue eyes, tiny stroke brows, closed mouth, muslin midriff, paper mache one-piece torso and lower legs, cloth upper arms and paper mache lower arms, antique costume. Condition: very good, original finish, vertical paint line on left side of face. Comments: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: charming petite size taufling baby is wearing early (somewhat frail) original costume.
