Description
7 1/2" (19 cm.) All-wooden doll with one-piece head and torso, black painted hair, painted facial features, tiny blue eyes, single stroke brows, closed mouth, all-wooden fully-articulated body with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Grodnertal, circa 1850, with original paper label "Swiss" indicating the costume theme. Value Points: the doll is wearing purple/black striped silk skirt, red woolen bodice with white sleevelets, apron, red woolen petticoat, and woven bonnet with blue ribbons to match waist bow.
