Description
8" (20 cm.) All-wooden doll with one-piece head and torso, black painted hair, painted facial features, tiny blue eyes, single stroke brows, closed mouth, all-wooden fully-articulated body with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Grodnertal, circa 1850, with original paper label "Russian Nurse" indicating the costume theme. Value Points: the doll is wearing original red woolen nanny gown with matching cap, and is holding a wooden baby with original gown and cape. Ex-Maureen Popp Collection.
