Description
20" (51 cm.) Gutta percha shoulderhead, oval shaped face and strong throat, black sculpted hair drawn smoothly around the sides of forehead and falling in casual ringlet curls onto shoulders, dark glass inset eyes, lightly-feathered brows, closed mouth, blushed cheeks, cloth body with stitch-jointing, blue kid arms to above the elbows designed to appear as gloves, original costume, undergarments, red kidskin ankle boots. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: mid-19th century, a series of dolls of gutta percha and rubber were created by dollmakers in France, Germany and America at this time, the maker is uncertain. Value Points: especially appealing face with hint of gentle smile, original finish, beautifully-sculpted hair, original body with rare glove arms.
