15" (38 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with painted facial features, blue eyes with painted upper lashes, closed mouth, elaborate coiffe which completely covers hair with intricately woven netting and forming a faux-fur frame with jeweled accents, padded wire armature body, composition hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Grace Lathrop (ink lettered on back of head). Comments: Grace Lathrop, early NIADA doll artist, 1950s. Value Points: rarely found medium by this artist, the doll is wearing superb original gown of the 15th century manner including elaborate coiffe.
