Description
10" (25 cm.) Of padded fabric over wire armature with well-defined details of face and individual fingers, the lady has painted facial features, closed mouth, fine mohair wig wrapped with jewel-studded metallic cords, and is wearing ivory silk high-waisted gown with metallic belt, and fringe, coral wrap with applique bands which forms into a train, silk slippers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Dorothy Heizer (ink script cloth tag inside costume). Comments: by the celebrated American artist Dorothy Heizer from a series of historic queens introduced in 1934, the doll represents Empress Josephine of France. Value Points: exquisite portrait doll with fine detail of every aspect of portraiture and costume.
