Description
22" (56 cm.) One-piece carved wooden head and torso with oval face, strong elongated throat, slightly-modeled bosom, and rounded half-sphere hips, mortise and tenon jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, defined shadowing around the enamel inset eyes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, cheek blush spots, original brunette wig. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, late 1700s. Value Points: fine original finish lends a strong presence, well-detailed body including slender yet shapely lower legs with carved definition of painted brown slippers; and including her original embroidered silk brocade two-piece gown.
