Description
11" (28 cm.) Bisque socket head, painted blue downcast eyes, heavy eyelids, single stroke brows, closed mouth with center accent line, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: BSW (in heart) 535. Comments: Bruno Schmidt, circa 1912, the model exactly resembles the 101 model from Kammer and Reinhardt's art character series. Value Points: rare pensive-face character, original wig, body, body finish, wearing original knit Tyrolean style costume, with intriguing markings. The doll is featured in the book, The Rose Unfolds, by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, page 177.
