18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, auburn mohair wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: G Made in Germany 11 128 (head) Excelsior (body). Comments: Kestner, circa 1885. Value Points: hard-to-find model with closed mouth, very fine bisque, original Excelsior body and body finish, and wearing all original aqua silk dress with matching bonnet, matching aqua woven stockings and aqua kidskin shoes signed C.M., with aqua silk parasol and gilt watch on jewelry chain.
