Description
21" (53 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, oval face, slender elongated throat, brown sculpted hair is drawn from face in deep waves and accented with delicate feathering around the forehead, with attached brown cluster of curls at back of head, blue glass inset eyes, feathered all-around lashes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, sculpted pierced ears, cloth stitch-jointed body, bisque lower arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, attributed to C.F. Kling, circa 1875. Value Points: rarity factors include brown hair, rare coiffure, swivel neck and glass eyes. The doll is featured in the book, The Rose Unfolds, by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, pp. 32/33.
