24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, lushly-painted lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, thick brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined and glazed lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig on cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Mascotte J (head) Bebe Mascotte Paris (body). Comments: May Freres & Cie, circa 1895. Value Points: dramatic painting of eyes enhances their wonderful large size, original body and body finish, lovely antique dress, undergarments, shoes and bonnet.
