Description
30" (76 cm.) Bisque socket head with rounded facial shape, almond-shaped eye sockets with thick dark eyeliner, pale blue eyes which open and close from wire mechanism at back of head, painted curly lashes, rose blushed eyeshadow, arched feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips and wide center line, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over pate, Steiner composition fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, very faint hairline at temple above left eye. Marks: Sie B 6 (incised on head) Steiner Bte SGDG Paris Bourgoin (red ink script). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1882. Value Points: one of the rarest Steiner models, this example having captivating expression, beautiful bisque with delicately-painted features and soft blushed highlights on eyelids, cheeks, chin and ear lobes, original body and body finish, beautiful antique costume.
