Description
20" (51 cm.) l. 14"d. x 12"h. The canvas-twill covered wooden dome-topped trunk with iron and wooden trim and handles hinges open to paper-lined interior with drop-down tray fitted with rose support ribbons, shallow hinged lid which opens to reveal three drawers labeled for gants (gloves), divers (various) and bijoux (jewelry); and with two lift-out trays in the lower section. Excellent condition. French, circa 1860, although unmarked, the trunk is typical of others known to be presented in the Paris shop of Maison Huret.
