Wooden doll with one-piece head and torso, egg-shaped head and slightly-elongated throat, flat back, cloth arms with cords as fingers, simple stick wooden legs, painted complexion over gesso, large outlined brown eyes, single stroke brows, closed mouth, wearing original costume. Condition: original painted finish, costume very frail. Comments: England, late 1700s. Value Points: charming original facial features with very large eyes, the baby is resting in original wooden cradle with paint-decorated finish to simulate wood.
