Description
11" (28 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, painted curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full outlined lips, brunette mohair wig with waist-length braids, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique school dress, undergarments, stockings, and original black leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2033 BSW (in heart) 537 2/0. Comments: Bruno Schmidt, circa 1912, the model is known by collectors as "Wendy". Value Points: especially fine example of the desirable wistful-faced girl, in appealing rare size, with finest bisque and painting, original body and body finish. The doll is featured in the book, The Rose Unfolds, by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick, page 178.
