Description
21" (53 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead with plump childlike face, inset brown glass eyes, red upper eyeliner, painted lashes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center line, black sculpted hair with center part and waved around sides of forehead and behind sculpted ears, forming into finger curls at back of head, cloth stitch-jointed body, leather arms, antique costume. Condition: porcelain excellent, body a bit worn. Comments: Germany, circa 1880. Value Points: charming childlike model with glass eyes, wonderfully-detailed combmarks accentuate the modeled hair, antique costume (worn) including needlework purse. Ex-collection Bess Goldfinger.
