Description
3 1/2" (9 cm.) doll. 9"h. bed. The tiny wax doll with shoulderhead, wax arms and leg (left leg missing), painted features, arranged coiffure, and wearing original silk gown and decorated matching bonnet, is resting upon the canopy bed. Possibly created as an early candy box as the coverlet lifts to reveal box-like storage, the bed has carton sides and frame which are covered with rich burgundy velvet and accented with paillettes, gold braid, pom-poms and aqua silk drapes. Condition: very good. Comments: early 1800s. Value Points: most charming presentation with luxurious detail of decoration on the canopy bed.
