Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, very full cheeks, blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading and dark outer iris rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, plump kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows, bisque forearms, separately-sculpted fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bru Jne 5 (head and shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1882. Value Points: very fine state of preservation, original very sturdy body, perfect bisque hands, fine bisque complexion and painting. Included with the doll is her original bebe trunk and a large selection of antique clothing highlighted by her original pale aqua silk coat with quilted edging and matching bonnet and muff, along with her original leather shoes signed "B" in script.
