Description
16" (41 cm.) Solid domed paper mache shoulderhead, black enamel eyes, painted lashes, single stroke brows, closed mouth with center accent line, brunette human hair, muslin stitch-jointed body, kid leather arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1865. Value Points: wearing well-preserved original costume in the style "a la Turque" of ivory silk and blue velvet with silver fringe, matching turban style hat, red kidskin slippers, and carrying a rare woven cornucopia with berries and leaves. The doll was displayed at the Philadelphia Sanitary Fair in 1864.
