Description
10" (25 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead, painted blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, painted lashes, single stroke brows, closed mouth with shaded lips, blonde lambswool wig, wooden block torso and pedestal stand. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1865, the doll is created as a novelty bell-ringer, with metal plate perched atop the doll's head and two flexible metal rods designed to "ring" the bell when the doll is shaken. Value Points: luxury bell-ringer is wearing original costume with gilt paper and bell trim.
