Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair over cork pate, molded hollow ("blown") leather body in classic bebe proportions with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, side-hips and side-knees. Condition: generally excellent, head is appropriately-sized but not original to body. Marks: F.G. (scroll) 7. Comments: the rare child-proportioned body was made by Pierre-Victor Clement, circa 1880; he had originally deposed a blown leather lady body for poupee in 1867. The head is by Gaultier, circa 1885. Value Points: very rare body style for early bebe.
