Description
8" (20 cm.) and 14". Each is all-wooden doll with one-piece head and torso, black painted hair, painted facial features, single stroke brows, closed mouth, all-wooden fully-articulated body with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted shoes. Condition: very good, typical scuffs to facial finish. Comments: Grodnertal, circa 1850, with original paper labels "Russian" and "Egyptian" indicating the costumes. Value Points: the dolls are wearing original costumes, the Egyptian lady carrying small child. Ex-Maureen Popp Collection.
