Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head, dark glass sleep and flirty eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with coral-shaded lips, brunette human hair wig in original curls, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 71 Unis France 149 306 Jumeau 1938 Paris (incised on head). Comments: SFBJ/Unis France, circa 1938, a pair of dolls was made to commemorate a visit to Paris of the young British princesses, Elizabeth and Margaret. The facial model was used exclusively for these dolls. Value Points: rare doll in pristine condition, beautiful complexion, original wig, body and body finish, and wearing original silk dress with embroidered cutwork, wide-brimmed bonnet, undergarments, socks and shoes.
