18" (46 cm.) Solid domed shoulderhead with tinted complexion, eight sew holes, brown sculpted hair drawn smoothly around the forehead and looped below the sculpted ears in narrow braids that are captured at the center back of head, painted blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, grey lower eyeshadow, thick single stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent dot, blushed cheeks and chin, cloth stitch-jointed body, porcelain hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Par Brevet (shoulderplate) J.P. (inside head). Comments: French, Jacob-Petit, circa 1850. Value Points: very rare doll, especially with maker's signature, with superb coiffure in rare brown color. Ex-collection Gladys Hilsdorf.
