Description
8" (20 cm.) Each has carved bone head with well-defined facial features that are accented with slight tinting, painted pate with attached original wigs, painted one-piece wooden body except carved bone hands with metal-articulation joint at wrists. Condition: generally excellent, original finish, tip of man's foot is missing. Comments: late 1700s, the facial expressions and body poses suggest original exhibition in liturgical scene. Value Points: rare miniature size, articulated wrists, the pair are wearing original silk layered costumes with meticulous detail of metallic embroidery.
