2" (5 cm.) -3 1/2". 11" x 11" box. Twenty-eight all-bisque figures of personified animals, each with brightly colored sculpted costume and loosely attached nodder head, including family of bears, family of frogs, family of bunnies, family of piggies, family of dogs, family of elephants, and family of chickens including rooster dad. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Hertwig, circa 1920, the figures are each still attached to original sample box with inventory numbers for each. The Hertwig factory sample boxes had been preserved in secret archives until their auction from the original Hertwig family in 2000. Value Points: the importance of the historical set is rivaled by its delightful and imaginative figures.
