Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead, brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, slightly-parted lips, row of tiny teeth, brunette mohair wig, attached on original carton form to present as taufling baby. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1890. Value Points: the taufling child is wrapped in embroidered linen with burgundy ribbons, matching cap; when the base is pulled down, the interior is revealed with red silk lining and a silverplate and gilt set of knife, fork and spoon; the doll was likely created as a baby shower gift.
