Description
12" (30 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead with very slight pink tinting, oval face and slender elongated throat, painted grey hair drawn softly from face and edged at the back crown with sculpted braid and deeply looped curl, with black barrette, painted blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, tiny closed mouth, blushed cheeks, slender kid body with simple flat fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: mid-1800s, the doll bears close resemblance to #435 of this catalog. Value Points: rare coiffure and hair color, unusual original body with original tacked-on costume featuring soft kidskin cream bodice, skirt and pantalets, accented by tinted red kidskin sleeves and hem, and with gold metallic braid.
