Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, mouth open in "O" shape, the head containing rubber ball and metal turn screw for Bebe Teteur actions, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French all-wooden body with mortise and tenon jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and feet, separately-carved hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bru Jne 6 (head). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his Bebe Teteur, with metal screw attachment, circa 1883. Value Points: rare Bebe Modele articulated body, included is (frail) original silk dress and glass baby bottle in original box.
